Our Team Members

Romina Segura – Guardian of Patagonia's Wild Soul
Born under the endless skies of northern Patagonia’s ranching country, Romina Segura carries the spirit of the gaucho in her blood and the wilderness in her heart. Raised on remote estancias where the pampa meets the Andes, she learned to read trails before maps and understand winds before weather forecasts.
A certified National Parks specialist, Romina has devoted her career to revealing Patagonia’s most secluded wonders – from the thunderous glaciers of Los Glaciares to the ancient forests of Lanín and the untouched steppes of Perito Moreno. Her expertise goes beyond guiding; she crafts immersive journeys where luxury estancias meet rugged backcountry expeditions.
In recent years, El Chaltén has become her outdoor classroom – here, she leads travelers through landscapes so raw they feel like the earth’s first morning. Whether riding through virgin valleys or sharing mate under the Fitz Roy massif, Romina bridges Patagonia’s criollo heritage with sustainable adventure:
- "We don't conquer these lands - we borrow them. My role isn't to tame the wilderness, but to help travelers listen to its ancient stories."

Juan Perfume
Juan Perfume has spent a lifetime forging paths through the wild heart of Argentina’s southern wilderness. As both an expert horseback guide in Los Glaciares National Park and a pioneer of epic expeditions like the iconic “Patagonia al Paso” – the monumental 84-day horseback journey linking El Chaltén to Lanín Volcano – Juan carries the spirit of adventure in his blood.
Though he’s held prestigious management positions, Juan’s compass always points back to the saddle. His recognition by the exclusive Long Riders Guild stands as testament to his extraordinary horsemanship and deep wilderness knowledge. Every ride with Juan becomes a masterclass in reading Patagonia’s untamed landscapes – whether leading multi-day treks across glaciers or sharing intimate knowledge of hidden valleys.
When not in the saddle, Juan challenges himself through trail running, always seeking new ways to connect with nature’s raw power. But it’s on horseback where his true passion shines:
- "After thirty years, I still discover something new each time I ride into the wind. My mission isn't just to guide travelers through Patagonia – but to help them feel its pulse through the rhythm of hoofbeats and the stories only these mountains can tell."

Ismael Areco
Born with reins in his hands and the Pampas wind in his hair, Isma Areco’s life has been a love story written in hoofprints. Growing up on a traditional Argentine ranch where 30 horses were partners rather than pets, he learned the language of equines before he could read – spending his childhood days herding cattle and riding 10 miles through storms to reach his rural school.
The son of a veterinarian, Isma didn’t just ride horses; he breathed with them. This profound connection shaped his journey from the grassy plains of Buenos Aires to the rugged trails of Patagonia, where he’s made his home for the past 15 years. A certified tourism professional specializing in rural experiences, Isma transforms ordinary rides into moving conversations between rider, horse, and landscape.
At renowned estancias across Argentina and now in Patagonia’s wilderness, Isma shares more than trails – he offers visitors the keys to an ancient equestrian world:
The subtle shift of weight that speaks volumes to a Criollo horse
The gaucho wisdom passed down through generations
The magical moment when rider and horse move as one through glacier-carved valleys
- For Isma, horses remain his truest compass – whether leading expeditions beneath the Fitz Roy massif or teaching visitors how to listen to a horse's quiet wisdom. His programs don't just show Patagonia; they let travelers feel its wild pulse through the rhythm of hoofbeats and the warm breath of trust between human and horse.

Oscar Arce
Born in the province of Buenos Aires, where gaucho traditions run deep, Oscar Arce developed an innate understanding of Argentina’s cultural heritage. After earning his degree in Tourism, he dedicated his career to crafting immersive experiences that go beyond conventional travel – products with true identity and soul.
A certified Argentine wine specialist, Oscar skillfully blends his passions, creating unique events like Polo & Wines during Argentina’s prestigious Triple Crown polo tournaments and wine-paired gatherings at traditional estancias across the Pampas and Patagonia.
His deep connection with Patagonia led him to pioneer innovative luxury adventures: from ski expeditions to glamping under the stars, always connecting travelers with the region’s most emblematic estancias on both sides of the Andes. Oscar’s expertise lies in weaving together Argentina’s finest elements – its landscapes, traditions, wines, and warm hospitality – into unforgettable journeys

José Argento
Born into the gaucho traditions of Argentina’s Pampas, José Argento grew up surrounded by working estancias where his family bred and trained Criollo horses. His lifelong passion for equestrian adventure was ignited in adolescence when he discovered the legendary 1925 transcontinental journey of Gato and Mancha – Aimé Tschiffely’s famous Criollo horses that traveled from Buenos Aires to New York City.
This inspiration, combined with his family’s horsemanship legacy, led José to become both a skilled polo horse trainer and professional player, competing across the world. After completing his degree in Tourism, he followed his calling to Patagonia, establishing himself as a guide in Los Glaciares National Park.
José has since pioneered some of Patagonia’s most ambitious horseback expeditions, earning recognition in the prestigious Long Riders Guild. His remarkable journeys include:
Patagonia al Paso: An 84-day, 2,000 km odyssey traversing the entire region
The Last Explorers: Retracing Darwin and Perito Moreno’s legendary routes along the Santa Cruz River
La Unión de los Lagos: Following historic gaucho trails between Argentina ‘s iconic lakes Argentino and Lake Viedma.
- A true guardian of gaucho culture, José embodies its deep respect for horses, nature, and authentic connection to the land. Through his expeditions and guiding, he keeps alive the spirit of Patagonia's legendary horsemen and explorers.
